Carlos Soler, who is currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, seems to have found his best form at West Ham United, putting the club in a tough position as they face a key decision.
It appears Soler recognized the need for a fresh start this summer to secure regular playing time, and watching Spain win the UEFA Euro 2024 title may have also motivated him to earn a spot back in the national team.
Several clubs showed interest in Soler during the transfer window, but West Ham was the one to seal his loan move on deadline day.
According to an October report from Claret and Hugh, the move is purely a loan, with no obligation for West Ham to make a permanent purchase. A senior official at the London Stadium confirmed, “Soler is just here on loan with absolutely no obligation for us to buy.”
With his high wages and PSG’s expected asking price, any deal exceeding £1 million would require board approval, which makes a permanent transfer seem unlikely. But now, things could be taking a turn.

L’Équipe reports that PSG may sell several players currently on loan this winter. There’s talk of possible deals with West Ham, and Soler is eager to remain in London.
PSG have already hit the limit for the number of loaned players abroad this season, with FIFA capping it at six. This is why the Ligue 1 club wants the Hammers to make the Spaniard’s move permanent, freeing up a loan slot.
Recently, the Spanish publication AS reported that the belief that the former Valencia midfielder will join West Ham on a permanent deal is growing. Initially, it was thought that the Hammers would face significant difficulty in securing Soler permanently because of his high wages. Transfermarkt put Soler’s transfer value at €20 million.
