Real Madrid are set to enter the market for a new midfielder in the summer transfer window. The Spanish giants understand the need of a creative and controlling presence in the middle of the park, having failed to replace the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

As such, several players have been considered as potential targets, with PSG superstar Vitinha featuring at the top of the wishlist.

The Portuguese international is a player that Real Madrid greatly admire and see as an option for the summer amid reports of him being available for around €90 million this year.

Vitinha exit unlikely

However, according to Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Vitinha’s camp believes that an exit from PSG in the summer is impossible after the year he has had at the club.

After all, the 25-year-old midfielder was one of the centrepieces of the PSG team that won the sextuple in 2025 and secured a podium finish in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

Moreover, Vitinha has a contract with PSG until the summer of 2029, having signed a new long-term deal in February last year.

Considering that he remains an integral part of the plans under Luis Enrique, PSG are unlikely to consider any sort of offers for the ace midfielder.

As such, a move for Vitinha from Real Madrid in the summer appears extremely difficult to pull off, with the player’s camp itself seeing it as impossible at this point.

Los Blancos have other options on their radars – such as Kees Smit of AZ Alkmaar and Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton. So, only time will tell who they sign to strengthen the midfield before next season.
