PSG v Strasbourg: Lucas Hernandez highlights team spirit

Paris Saint-Germain hosted RC Strasbourg this Friday as part of the 8th round of Ligue 1 (3-3 video highlights here). Following the match, Lucas Hernandez, the 29-year-old full-back, reflected on the result at the PSG TV microphone.

Hernandez: “The team’s mindset is impeccable”

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t win this match even though that’s what we wanted. It’s true that we conceded that goal at the start of the second half, and I think we should never have let that happen. But it’s also true that the team’s mindset is impeccable; I think even when we were trailing 1-3, we fought to get back into the game. We tried everything to win it, but unfortunately we only managed a draw. We made a great effort, now we need to rest well for Tuesday’s match.”

After being down 3-1, the most important thing for PSG was to come back and at least secure a point from the draw. That’s what they did. Returning from international breaks is always difficult for the capital club, which has many international players. The club did what was essential, but caution is still needed. Rivals will likely take advantage of this draw, and in the future, PSG will need to avoid dropping points in order to stay at the top of the league.
