Paris Saint-Germain have gone young and promising over the past few transfer windows. Nonetheless, Luis Enrique and Luis Campos know that they need veterans on the squad too, but they need to fit the culture and system that the duo are building.
The capital club could bolster their defense, especially with Milan Skriniar likely leaving permanently this summer after departing this past winter transfer window to Fenerbahçe SK.
Rather than spend big on a player, the Ligue 1 side could opt for a short-term deal with a free agent that they have already faced. Virgil van Dijk is all out of contract at the end of the campaign and a report reveals he’s on PSG’s radar.

Enrique saw firsthand if Van Dijk, who is 33, can give him two seasons, and the latest update reveals that he can.
Anfield Watch reports that the French side are targeting the Liverpool captain. While a video circulating on social media last week showing the Liverpool skipper with Campos was purely coincidental, the runaway Ligue 1 leaders are in talks with the Dutchman’s agent.
The offer on the table includes €80 million over two years, with a potential third season in Paris and a significant signing bonus that pushes the initial proposal to €100 million.
However, the report suggests that money is not a primary motivator for the 33-year-old. It adds that the Reds have dragged out contract extension talks, taking their focus off the game and disrespecting key players. As a result, the captain is now considering his options.
It will be interesting to see if PSG breaks from its tradition of bringing in young talents and eyes one veteran.
