According to L'Équipe, PSG women are under fire after an early Champions League exit and three league forfeits over a licence irregularity, as they trail Lyon in the Arkema Première Ligue.
The European campaign ended with two points and a second-bottom finish in the league phase. The shift towards an academy-led model has drawn heavy criticism of sporting director Angelo Castellazzi and deputy Sabrina Delannoy, with consultant Grégory Sertic arguing recruitment has misfired and that the side is not competitive. The club declined to comment.
Castellazzi has argued for a balanced plan since 2022, saying heavy spending does not guarantee trophies and that patience and continuity are needed, with competitiveness still the aim even if it is a long-term bet. Former academy leader Pierre-Yves Bodineau believes the approach can be more solid and aligned to Paris’s identity.
The reset has not stopped high-profile arrivals, including Olga Carmona, Rasheedat Ajibade and Vitoria Yaya. The report says France forward Kelly Gago and another Bleues attacker are being targeted for January.
On the pitch, coach Paulo Cesar has promoted academy talent, yet Tara Elimbi Gilbert has started only seven of 17 matches and fellow France international Thiniba Samoura eight, leaving both futures uncertain. The Ultras returned on 20 November for the 1-3 defeat by Bayern Munich after a boycott. Paris have 17 points from 11 league games and ended Europe winless, underlining the scale of the rebuild.
