It has been a memorable season for Ousmane Dembélé (27), who continues to make a massive impact for both club and country.
Although Paris Saint-Germain suffered their first defeat of the Ligue 1 campaign on matchday 31 versus OGC Nice (3-1), the former World Cup champion remained a prominent figure in his team’s attack.
He assisted on their only goal scored by Fabián Ruiz (29) late in the opening half on Friday, his first goal or assist for Les Parisiens since their 3-2 defeat away to Aston Villa in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League tie.
With his assist on Friday, he collected his 200th goal involvement in his club and international career.
With 21 domestic goals, Dembélé is poised to win the Ligue 1 Golden Boot, which, if successful, would mark the 10th successive campaign that a PSG player has ended up as the top goalscorer in the competition. At the same time, his form this year at PSG and Les Bleus has put him in the mix for the coveted Ballon d’Or, something no one would’ve ever anticipated.
While he continues to make an impact, he hasn’t found the back of the net for PSG since netting a brace in their 4-2 victory over Dunkerque at the beginning of April in the Coupe de France semi-finals.
