The Public Security Police said on Wednesday that a supporter was intercepted during Sunday’s Benfica v FC Porto match for disobeying an ancillary ban on attending sports venues, imposed by the Judicial Court of the Braga district.

The round 25 I Liga fixture finished 2-2.

The ban followed a conviction for offences against physical integrity at a sporting event, relating to the Moreirense v FC Porto game on matchday one of the 2023/2024 Liga Betclic season.

Ignoring the measure constitutes the crime of disobedience under article 348 of the Penal Code, punishable by up to one year in prison or a fine of up to 120 days.

This incident brings to 14 the number of supporters intercepted since the start of the current season for violating stadium bans.
