Christian Pulisic warns the important thing is for Milan to be ‘consistent’ after three straight victories, while Matteo Gabbia reveals the key to their defensive solidity.

The Rossoneri are starting to get into a groove now with their third consecutive Serie A win, allowing them to leapfrog this evening’s opponents Udinese in the table.

They had opened with a shock 2-1 home defeat to Cremonese, but have since disposed of Lecce, Bologna and now Udinese.

Pulisic was the Man of the Match after scoring two goals and creating another for Youssouf Fofana, by pressing Jesper Karlstrom into an error inside his own penalty area.

“I feel good. I had a knock today, but I’m fine and very happy for this victory,” Pulisic told Sky Sport Italia.

Despite not being fully fit and struggling with an ankle problem, Pulisic has been the key figure for Milan this season, contributing four goals in just five games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

“It is not easy to come here and keep a clean sheet, but we are getting solid, we’re moving well with five at the back, and it’s going well. We have a great team, the important thing now is to be consistent, take it one game at a time, and have a great season.”

With Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao both out injured this evening, Milan defender Gabbia wore the captain’s armband for the first time.

“I am obviously very happy, it’s a dream come true, and a victory makes it even more wonderful. I hope not to wear it again for a while, because we need Mike and Rafa to return as soon as possible, they are our captains,” Gabbia told Sky Sport Italia.

He wants to spread the credit around for the improvements in their defensive record, as this was the third straight clean sheet in Serie A.

“The coach gives us confidence with our work in training during the week, we follow him and his staff. I also want to thank the forwards, as they make it easier for us with their hard work and make sure we are a more united group.”

Considering Milan do not have the distraction of European football, can they aim for the Scudetto this season?

“We all know that we must take it one match at a time, one training session at a time, then we’ll see where we are come Spring,” concluded Gabbia.
