All the latest news surrounding QPR
QPR are preparing for another season in the Championship after coming 15th in the previous campaign.
The Hoops will be hoping to fight in the top half of the table in the upcoming term, with Julien Stéphan arriving as their newest manager.
The Frenchman will be keen to make his mark on the first team squad, having replaced Martí Cifuentes earlier in the summer.
The London outfit will get their season started with a home clash against Preston North End on 9 August.
Here we look at all the latest news surrounding QPR ahead of the season getting underway next month…
Stéphan has discussed the team’s approach to their first pre-season friendly of the summer, a victory over Stevenage at their training ground.
He praised the mindset of the squad, as well as their attacking movement, with goals coming from Kader Dembele, Ilias Chair, Taylor Richards and Harvey Vale.
“I enjoyed the performance of the players," said Stéphan, via the club’s official website.
“I liked the intentions. I liked the quality of the offensive movement also.
“There was a very serious mindset also to defend when we lost the ball.
“Yes, it was not perfect, but it was good. It was a good first step for us.
“We've worked on something since the beginning of the pre-season, you know, and I enjoyed also to see that on the pitch today.
“So, yeah, good performance - I'm happy also to score five goals.
“It's important for the confidence of the players.
"Let's see a good rest tomorrow and let's go to work again on Monday.”
Don Goodman has claimed that QPR should look to give Charlie Kelman a chance after returning from an impressing loan stint with Leyton Orient.
It has been reported that West Brom are eyeing a potential move for the forward this summer, after he scored 21 times in League One last season.
“So, Charlie Kelman had a phenomenal season for Leyton Orient on loan last season,” Goodman exclusively told FLW.
“Obviously, 21 goals during the regular season in the league is exceptional, so I'm not surprised that he's being linked with other clubs.
“You would suspect that the new Queens Park Rangers boss will want to have a close look at him over the next few weeks and assess whether he has the ability to lead the line in the Championship.
“I can also understand why West Bromwich Albion would be sniffing around because they have struggled with a number nine.
“They must have thought they'd cracked it at the start of the first half of last season with Josh Maja, and he unfortunately got injured. Daryl Dike has had his injury issues.
“So, it's been quite a while since West Brom have had a reliable number nine that's maybe got 20 goals, so I'm not surprised that they're sniffing.
“But I'd be very surprised if Julien Stéphan doesn't have a real good look at Charlie Kelman before deciding whether or not he'd be happy for him to leave.”
It has been reported by Sky Sports that Crystal Palace have no intention of cashing in on Ebere Eze this summer amid interest from Arsenal.
The winger previously came through at QPR before signing for the Eagles, and it’s understood that the Championship side have a sell-on clause as part of the deal.
It has been claimed that Eze has a release clause worth £60 million, but that Palace are hopeful of holding onto the player.
QPR will be owed 20 per cent of any future sale of Eze, which would be a major windfall for the club if he does depart for £60 million.
QPR are among the clubs eyeing a move for Brazilian defender David Sousa from RWD Molenbeek.
It has been exclusively revealed by FLW that there are a number of Championship sides looking at the 23-year-old.
It was previously reported by The Athletic that Swansea City had an offer for the player worth €1 million (£850,000) rejected.
