QPR are among the clubs eyeing the signature of Kalidou Sidibé as a free agent
QPR finished 15th in the Championship table for a second season in a row following a disappointing run of form in the final weeks.
Julien Stéphan’s side lost each of their final four games of the term, which saw them fall into the bottom half of the standings.
The London outfit missed out on a top six finish by 15 points, as they were unable to sustain a promotion push.
The Frenchman was appointed as head coach last summer, and it was hoped he could improve on the 15th place finish the club earned in 2025.
However, QPR did earn an extra two points compared to the previous campaign despite their poor form in the final fixtures.
The club’s attention will now turn to the summer transfer window, where they will be hoping to improve the first team squad for the upcoming season.

It has been reported by French outlet L’Equipe that QPR are among the clubs chasing the signature of Kalidou Sidibé this summer.
The Mali international is set to become a free agent with the expiration of his contract with Guingamp next month.
The 27-year-old contributed two goals and two assists this season, with the team finishing 11th in the Ligue 2 table.
However, QPR face competition from the likes of Wisła Kraków and Akhmat Grozny from Poland and Russia, respectively.
The two latter clubs are believed to have already made a contract offer, although no agreement has yet been reached for his services.
It’s understood that QPR have made an approach to the midfielder, who came through the Toulouse academy system.
Sidibé signed for Guingamp in the 2023 summer transfer window, and has spent three seasons competing in the second tier of French football.
The 27-year-old has registered five goals and seven assists from 86 league appearances for the club in that time, but he is now set for an exit this summer.
It remains to be seen whether QPR can convince him to make the switch to English football, with his entire career taking place in France so far.
The Hoops will be looking to bolster their midfield options ahead of the next campaign, and Sidibé was previously linked with Championship rivals Wrexham.
Oxford United were also reportedly interested in the Mali international, but he ultimately spent the remainder of the season with Guingamp.

Stéphan will know French football well, and he should have a good idea of what Sidibé can bring to his side next season.
Providing extra cover and competition in midfield could be a smart piece of business for the London outfit, particularly if they can get Sidibé in as a free agent.
These are the kind of moves that could give QPR an edge on their rivals, but it remains unclear whether they can compete with Wisła Kraków and Akhmat Grozny for his signature.
The allure of English football could prove tempting, and the opportunity to work with Stéphan, who could help him settle into life in the Championship, could help sway this in the club’s favour.
