QPR are among the clubs keen on Liverpool defender Luke Chambers on loan this summer, although a standout pre-season display has strengthened the case for keeping him at Anfield, the72 reports.
The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season at Charlton Athletic in the Championship, mainly at left-back or left wing-back, having previously had spells with Kilmarnock and Wigan Athletic.
Chambers has also featured as a left-sided centre-back, and he played that role for Liverpool in a pre-season friendly against Wrexham. He started and completed 75 minutes as head coach Andoni Iraola handed minutes to several younger players.
Afterwards, Iraola highlighted how well Chambers coped physically and defensively against a strong Wrexham attack, praising his covering and his composure playing out from the back.
That display has prompted suggestions Liverpool could keep him around the first team rather than arrange another loan. A Daily Mail reporter wrote on X that his passing and ability to cover left-back and left centre-back might make him worth retaining, while noting loan interest is still likely.
Rangers have also identified Chambers as a target, The Athletic reports, with his versatility viewed as a useful asset for Julien Stephan’s squad.
Liverpool must now decide whether regular Championship minutes would better aid his development, or whether easing him into first-team action in cup competitions could be more beneficial.
