Rafa Mir has filed a new defence submission in court, providing two previously unseen videos and requesting acquittal in the sexual assault case. The document, prepared by lawyer Jaime Campaner, is presented as supporting the striker’s account.
Marca reports that the footage would be decisive in challenging the allegations, although no details have been disclosed. The filing argues the material strengthens the line advanced since the case began.
The case dates back to his spell at Valencia, when the complaint that triggered proceedings was lodged. Mir has repeatedly insisted on his innocence and urged for a swift trial to clarify events.
His strategy centres on objective evidence, here audiovisual material, to question the complainant’s account. The lawyer has formally sought acquittal, contending the submissions contradict the accusations.
During the process, Mir has continued playing with Elche. He retains the backing of the club, the staff led by Eder Sarabia, and his team-mates.
He scored his eighth goal of the season against Mallorca in the final match before the break, surpassing recent tallies recorded by other Elche forwards. With several games left, he remains a leading attacking reference.
The proceedings continue, with the trial expected in the coming months. The prosecution has requested 10 years and six months in prison for sexual assault, which the defence calls disproportionate and without basis after the new evidence.
