Paris Saint-Germain edged out Marseille on penalties to lift the French Super Cup after a chaotic 2-2 draw, with Lucas Chevalier making amends to become the hero of the night.
PSG struck first when Ousmane Dembélé punished a Marseille mistake with a delicate lob, but Chevalier was kept busy as Marseille pressed hard for an equaliser.
The keeper’s night took a turn late on when he clattered into Mason Greenwood, who dusted himself down to convert the resulting penalty.
Marseille then thought they had won it when Willian Pacho turned the ball into his own net, only for Gonçalo Ramos to rescue PSG deep into stoppage time from a Bradley Barcola assist.
Chevalier redeemed himself in the shoot-out, saving two penalties as PSG won 4-1 on spot-kicks, with Désiré Doué sealing a record 14th Trophée des Champions.
