Manchester United are pushing to sign a new striker for Ruben Amorim ahead of the new season.
It is well known that United have made Benjamin Sesko their priority target, having already held talks with RB Leipzig to understand his situation and their conditions for a summer deal.
However, they face strong competition from Newcastle United for his signature. The Magpies are desperate to sign a new number nine amid concerns over Alexander Isak’s future.
Accordingly, United might explore other options if they fail to make significant progress in their bid to convince the Leipzig star to move to Old Trafford.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have identified Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani as a potential alternative to Sesko.
Kolo Muani, who enjoyed a prolific loan stint at Juventus, is highly admired at United, who consider PSG’s asking price of around £50m as “excellent value”. However, the Frenchman’s plans may leave United with very limited options.
According to TuttoSport, Kolo Muani has rejected enquiries from United as well as Tottenham Hotspur.
It is understood that the France international is keen on returning to Juventus, who are progressing in the right direction to bring the 26-year-old forward back to Turin.
The Italian newspaper state that Juve are nearing an agreement with PSG. As part of the deal, Kolo Muani is likely to join the Serie A giants on an initial loan deal worth €10m- €15m and an obligation to buy set at €30m.
Meanwhile, a report in Germany suggests United are ready to go toe-to-toe with Newcastle for Sesko.
According to Sky Sport Germany, United are “ready to match Newcastle’s offer” for the 22-year-old star.
It is believed that “everything depends” on Sesko, who is taking his time to assess all options.
