Rangers have tabled a new bid for Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi, offering almost €3.6 million guaranteed and a sell-on clause, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Manager Danny Rohl wants a new striker before the transfer deadline on Monday and is hoping a deal for Naderi can be struck.
The German striker is willing to sign for Rangers now and spend the remainder of the season with Rostock before moving to Ibrox in the summer.
Leeds United striker Joel Piroe is also on Rangers’ radar. However, the Whites are reluctant to sanction a move.
Rostock have rejected every bid for Naderi. They are currently fourth in 3. Liga after 21 games and are eager to win promotion to the second tier.
Naderi has bagged eight league goals and five assists in 17 appearances, and holding on to him is crucial to their promotion hopes.
Rangers will need to offer a very juicy offer to tempt the German third division club into parting with one of their most important players.
They are four points behind Scottish Premiership league leaders Hearts after 23 games and will fancy their chances of winning the title this term.
Celtic are also in the title race, with only two points between them and Rangers, and Rohl could do with quality additions in the coming days to boost his side’s chances.
