The Daily Record have revealed that Wolves have joined rivals Aston Villa in keeping tabs on Belgian international midfielder Nicolas Raskin this summer. Both Premier League sides are said to be interested in Ranger’s star midfielder. The former Standard Liege midfielder still has two years left on his contract at Ibrox, but the money could really help Russel Martin re-configure the side to fight for trophies with arch rivals Celtic.
Raskin was a huge talent in Belgium during his time with Standard. The now 24-year-old played 95 games for the club, scoring five goals. Raskin was sold to Rangers in January 2023 and has gone on to score six goals in 95 games for the Scottish side. Since leaving Belgium he has been called up for the Red Devils and appears to be favored by new head coach Rudi Garcia. Moving to the Premier League could certainly help cement his position in the national team, although in Scotland he is more likely to enjoy European football by staying with Rangers over the likes of Wolves.
The Daily Record is also reporting that there is interest from abroad for the midfielder. Clearly, Raskin has a big decision to make this summer, while Rangers may feel that this is the best time to cash in on the Belgian midfielder.
