Rangers travels to Hampden Park as they face Celtic in a Premier Sports Cup semi-final this Sunday, with both sides aiming to secure their spot in the final.
Since Rohl’s appointment on October 20, Rangers have shown marked improvement, winning both league matches.
They earned a 3-1 home victory over Kilmarnock, which Rohl lauded as the team’s most impressive performance this season. This was followed by a narrow 1-0 away win at Hibernian, with Danilo scoring the decisive goal early on.
For Rangers, the challenge lies in coping without Dujon Sterling, who, despite resuming training after an Achilles injury suffered in the Europa League quarter-final last April, won’t be fit for this match. Similarly, forward Rabbi Matondo remains sidelined battling a long-term knee injury, with no return date set.
A major blow for Rangers is the suspension of midfielder Connor Barron, who will miss the game after accumulating two yellow cards in earlier rounds. Thankfully for the Light Blues, Danilo has been passed fit to return after a precautionary absence against Hibernian, per the update from manager Danny Rohl.
Under the new management of Danny Rohl, Mikey Moore has been granted more freedom centrally, shifting inward from his previous flank role and utilising his excellent passing range — a tactical adjustment that was seldom seen under former manager Russell Martin.
Possible Rangers starting XI: Butland; Djiga, Souttar, Cornelius; Tavernier, Diomande, Raskin, Meghoma; Moore, Danilo; Miovski.
The match will kick off at 2pm BST on Sunday, 2nd November.
