Rangers face Celtic at Celtic Park this Saturday in a high-stakes Scottish Premiership clash between Glasgow’s powerhouse duo.
The title-chasing sides are both seeking maximum points ahead of the Old Firm showdown to reduce the gap to league leader Hearts.
Rangers will boosted by their away form this season which sees them stand at second position in away form table, just behind Hearts.
Rangers will be without several players, as Derek Cornelius and Bailey Rice recover from their respective injuries, and Oliver Antman remains sidelined for at least another month following his early December leg injury, with a potential return no earlier than late January.
Nedim Bajrami is out until mid-January with a hamstring problem, and Nasser Djiga is unavailable owing to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations for his country.
Yet Rangers’ attack shows real promise, led by the effective Youssef Chermiti up top and goal-scoring contributions from midfielder Thelo Aasgaard. Emmanuel Fernandez has risen to the occasion lately, netting important goals in their 2-1 win against St Mirren last time out.
Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland has been outstanding, producing key stops including a penalty save versus St Mirren that highlights his class in net.
Possible Rangers starting XI: Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Fernandez, Meghoma; Aasgaard, Raskin, Diomande; Gassama, Y. Chermiti, Moore
The match will kick off at 12:30pm BST on Saturday, 3rd January.
