Rangers are set for a key Scottish Premiership showdown when they make the trip to Edinburgh to take on Hibernian at Easter Road this Wednesday.
Danny Rohl approaches this clash with few fitness issues among his squad. The Gers boss has confirmed that Dujon Sterling is sidelined until the new year due to an Achilles injury, while Rabbi Matondo remains out as he continues his recovery from a knee problem.
On a more positive note, Rohl reported no additional injuries in the wake of Rangers’ 3-1 win over Kilmarnock. This could see him stick with a largely unchanged line-up, banking on the same set of players who delivered his maiden home league victory.
Derek Cornelius was on target against Kilmarnock and has caught the eye with his solid performances in central defence. Up front, Danilo snapped his scoring drought with a vital header—his first league goal since January’s clash with Celtic. Significantly, Youssef Chermiti also got off the mark for Rangers, ending his lengthy search for a goal since arriving from Everton in an £8 million deal.
Midfield dynamo Mohamed Diomande stood out in the Kilmarnock fixture, topping the stats for tackles and interceptions and injecting much-needed energy—a display that could prove a turning point in his season.
Possible Rangers starting XI: Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Cornelius; Gassama, Raskin, Diomande, Aasgaard, Meghoma; Danilo, Miovski.
The match will kick off at 8:45pm BST on Wednesday, 29th October.
