Raphael Veiga on Palmeiras exit and return: ‘Even for one game’

Loaned by Palmeiras to América-MEX until the end of 2026, with a purchase option included in the contract, midfielder Raphael Veiga spoke in an interview with ‘PodPah’ about his departure from Verdão. The player also emphasized his desire to return in the future and, who knows, finish his career at Alviverde.

What motivated the departure?

Regarding his exit, the No. 23 stressed that he needed a new challenge in his career after nearly 10 years at the Greatest Champion of Brazil.

I spent a long time at Palmeiras, almost 10 years. I had already experienced a lot there, you know. And in a way it becomes repetitive, but there were no offers. But when the year turned, I wanted something new, a new motivation. And I wanted that challenge, you know.

Veiga also pointed out that he needed to experience a new challenge, and that in Mexico he lives that daily.

Here I have to arrive and learn everything. Another language, a new culture — I’m a guy who likes getting to know culture. Being in a place, being able to go out, meet people, and that challenges me. Since I’m from São Paulo, I was born there, my family is there, my friends are there, everything started to feel too much the same, it was repetitive.
