Barcelona star Raphinha has provided an update on his wellbeing, ahead of the club’s upcoming showdown with Atlético Madrid.

Wide-man Raphinha has of course spent the last week condemned to a spell on the sidelines.

Owing to a muscular injury picked up during a La Liga meeting with Elche, the Brazilian sat out Barcelona’s ensuing fixtures against both Albacete and Mallorca.

Next up for the Blaugrana comes a Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg meeting with Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid, on Thursday night.

Speaking during an exchange with the media on Monday, the subject of his availability to face the Rojiblancos was therefore put to Raphinha himself.

And the former Leeds United man admitted that his status remains largely up in the air, in explaining:

“My injury? There’s a chance I could recover in time for Thursday against Atlético, but I don’t know fully yet. It depends on the progress.”
