It was a tough outing for Lionel Messi and company on Saturday night as Inter Miami fell 3-0 to Charlotte FC.
Unfortunately, the scoreline wasn't the only embarrassing component of Miami's loss.
With the match still 0-0, Messi was taken down by sliding tackle in the box and Miami were awarded a penalty.
The 38-year-old confidently stepped up to the spot only to see his panenka attempt palmed away over the crossbar by Charlotte goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina.
It is a rare disappointment for Messi who has scored 19 league goals this season, second only to Nashville's Sam Surridge (21 goals).
Still, it's safe to say the Argentine superstar won't be watching that again today.
