Ruben Amorim has made only two changes to his starting XI for Manchester United’s Boxing Day clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The teams are undergoing their final preparations at the Molineux ahead of this evening’s 5.30pm kick-off, with the Reds tasked with bouncing back from last Sunday’s dismal 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth.
As for the hosts, they claimed only their third win of the 2024/2025 campaign when, free from the shackles of now-sacked manager Gary O’Neil, they overturned Leicester City 3-0 away from home last time out. Goals from Goncalo Guedes, Rodrigo Gomes and Matheus Cunha sealed Wolves a crucial three points at the King Power Stadium, though they remain in the relegation zone in 18th place.
Nonetheless, Amorim has opted for a line-up that’s certain to please the majority of supporters, as exhilarating young trio Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro are all deployed from the off – the latter replacing Tyrell Malacia.
Rasmus Hojlund comes in for Joshua Zirkzee, while Manuel Ugarte has again been given the nod to steady the midfield. It is the fewest amount of changes Amorim has made to a squad since taking the reins in November.

Regardless of tonight’s result, you can expect that tomorrow’s headlines will be plagued by the news of Marcus Rashford again being overlooked entirely for a fourth successive game. Initially omitted from the Manchester derby, the No.10 has yet to be restored to the matchday squad despite being fully fit and available for action.
It’s prompted some fans to question whether Rashford, who joined United aged seven, has played his final game in red, which would be a sorry state of affairs for all involved.
After locking horns with the Midlands outfit, the Reds welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford in a late clash on Monday night.
