Manchester United are willing to make a major compromise to resolve Marcus Rashford’s future.

Rashford scored the first goal of Ruben Amorim’s era in November, sparking huge excitement among the United faithful. The England international was Erik ten Hag’s most influential forward at the club and many expected him to play an even more crucial role under the Portuguese.

However, in the space of a few weeks, Rashford was pushed out of Old Trafford as Amorim was left unimpressed with his attitude.

Manchester United keen to offload Rashford

The Englishman moved to Aston Villa on loan in January and enjoyed a prolific campaign. Still, he remains out of the United head coach’s plans.

The 27-year-old has reported for pre-season training at Carrington. However, he has not been allowed to take part in team training with the rest of the squad. Further, he is not expected to be included in Amorim’s pre-season tour squad.

United are understood to be determined to offload their academy product, and a report in Spain suggests the Premier League giants are prepared to relax their demands to facilitate his exit.

Manchester United open to Rashford loan deal

The Red Devils value Rashford at around £40 million and initially it was believed they would only consider a permanent transfer. However, according to Marca, United are now willing to accept a loan proposal for Rashford.

Hansi Flick is keen to sign a new left-winger. Having missed Nico Williams, Barcelona are reportedly focused on two players: Luis Diaz and Rashford.

The Spanish newspaper claim Diaz is Barca’s preferred option but Liverpool’s reluctance to part ways with the Colombian has made their pursuit difficult.

Rashford’s situation is different and the Blaugrana are “much more on track after talks with Arturo Canales, who is leading the operation.”

Barcelona are aware Rashford is open to taking a pay cut to force a dream switch to Camp Nou.

United’s willingness to accept a loan offer should further strengthen the La Liga outfit’s pursuit. However, the Mancunians “would like it to come with a mandatory purchase option.”
