Barcelona will clash heads with Slavia Prague on Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result in the UEFA Champions League. The Catalan club suffered a narrow 2-1 loss at the hands of Real Sociedad recently, so they would be eager to bounce back by securing a win in midweek.

Hansi Flick will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this game. Marcus Rashford could play from the start of this contest, while Dani Olmo makes way for him and drops to the bench.

Defence

Joan Garcia will play in between the sticks for the Catalan club after he shipped in a couple of goals in his last outing. Pau Cubarsi will function alongside Eric Garcia at the centre of the Barcelona backline as they look to keep a good shape when defending inside their half.

Jules Kounde will try to prove his worth as the right-back, while Alejandro Balde hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Gerard Martin and Joao Cancelo will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Frenkie de Jong and Pedri will operate as the holding midfielders as they look to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Marcus Rashford, Fermin Lopez and Raphinha will play just ahead of them as part of the Barcelona attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Catalan giants are to secure a win this Wednesday night.

Marc Bernal, Marc Bernal and Roony Bardghji will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Ferran Torres will spearhead Barcelona’s attack up top. He has to find a way to be a constant menace in the final third.

Robert Lewandowski will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter if Barcelona are in need of a goal.
