Sunderland’s Red & White Army has called on the club to postpone releasing unrenewed season tickets, citing unresolved renewal problems and wider ticketing concerns following the Tyne-Wear derby.

According to Sunderland Echo, the group has been in dialogue with the club since before the Newcastle United game, where some tickets were rescinded then returned to sale after what the club described as a large-scale breach of ticketing rules.

RAWA says it has compiled a list of issues affecting supporters, including seat moves, admin fees and switching between pricing structures, and is pressing for a ticketing-specific meeting as a matter of urgency given the renewal timetable.

The group adds that a number of long-serving fans are struggling to retain or adapt their matchday arrangements, particularly when moving between corporate packages and general admission.

While acknowledging progress in other areas of the club, RAWA says customer service and ticketing outcomes remain below standard and that it is increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress, urging clearer communication with fans.

It has asked Sunderland to hold back unrenewed seats beyond the proposed 5pm deadline on April 20th, arguing supporters should not lose places or potential moves due to issues outside their control. Fans experiencing problems have been invited to contact info@redandwhitearmy.co.uk.
