Former Arsenal player Ray Parlour has urged Chelsea to bring Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger back to the club.

The Blues once again heavily invested in their squad over the summer, and made five attacking signings as they totally revamped the frontline.

The January window is now open and inevitably Chelsea have been linked with players, but the Blues are reportedly set for a quiet month.

Ray Parlour tells Chelsea to bring Antonio Rudiger back

New head coach Liam Rosenior is reportedly happy with the current squad, but the Blues are short in a number of areas.

Centre back is one of those positions, and previous head coach Enzo Maresca publicly stated he wanted a replacement when Levi Colwill suffered an ACL injury before the start of the season.

His wish wasn’t granted and Chelsea have had to make do with their current options, and in all honesty they lack quality in the position.

Crystal Palace captain Palace Marc Guehi has six months left on his contract, but Chelsea don’t seem to be interested, and now Parlour has made a suggestion.

“Take him, he knows Chelsea, I’d take him straight back,” he told talkSPORT as quoted on X.com.

“You’d definitely take Rudiger back, every Chelsea fan would have him back.”

Chelsea have previously been linked with Rudiger who spent five years at the club in which time he won the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League, and made 203 appearances.

Aaron Anselmino impressing on loan at Borussia Dortmund

Whether Chelsea decide to go for another centre back remains to be seen, but they do have two young ones impressing on loan.

Aaron Anselmino and Mamadou Sarr are impressing at Borussia Dortmund and Strasbourg respectively, and could find themselves in the Chelsea first team squad next season.

Dortmund reportedly want to sign Anselmino, but the Blues have made it clear the Argentine isn’t for sale, whilst Rosenior knows Sarr well having worked with him at Strasbourg.
