Rayan Cherki shortlisted for PFA Premier League Player of the Season | OneFootball

L'Équipe reports that Rayan Cherki has been shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Season award by the Professional Footballers' Association after his first year at Manchester City.

The 22-year-old France midfielder is one of six contenders. The others are Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Gabriel (Arsenal), David Raya (Arsenal) and Declan Rice (Arsenal).

Signed from Lyon last summer for 42.5 million including bonuses, Cherki has stood out for creativity and audacious touches, including a splendid rabona against Sunderland in a 3-0 win.

In the league he delivered four goals and 12 assists. After starting the season on the bench, he gradually earned a place in Pep Guardiola's side, who finished second to Arsenal in the Premier League.

He is also in contention for the Young Player of the Season award, alongside Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth.
