When asked about the game on Saturday evening against Dortmund, Rose said:

“We look at what the opponent offers us, what tactics, processes and players are on the pitch. At home against BVB it is always a difficult, challenging but also nice task. We are currently in excellent form in the Bundesliga and are going into the match with self-confidence, conviction and good results behind us. Dortmund has a good team with a high level of individual quality. They are strong in playing with and against the ball, in set pieces, they are very fast on both wings and have a top striker in Serhou Guirassy. Even if they are struggling a bit at the moment, we need a top performance tomorrow evening, but we are confident we can do that. We are concentrating on our strengths and looking at how we deal with adversity.”

Dortmund are currently seventh in the Bundesliga and is on a three-match losing run having lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League last week, Augsburg last weekend in the Bundesliga and Wolfsburg in the DFB Pokal in midweek. This has prompted questions surrounding head coach Nuri Sahin as well as the squad as a whole.

Rose himself knows all about the environment at Dortmund after he was fired by the club back in 2022 after only a year at the helm, before being replaced by Edin Terzic.

Leipzig on the other hand, is unbeaten domestically and is level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the table. Despite losing Xavi Simons and David Raum through injury, Leipzig overcame early season high flyers Freiburg 3-1 last weekend after going a goal down. The Saxony-based side also has the best defence in the Bundesliga having only conceded three goals all season.
