RC Lens mourn supporter, 59, who died en route to Lille

RC Lens have announced the death of a supporter who suffered a cardiac arrest while travelling to the Lille derby on Saturday. The club said in a statement that Yves, 59, fell ill on one of the buses heading to the Decathlon Arena.

The news was shared on Saturday night after Lens lost 0-3 away to Lille.

The club offered condolences to his family and friends, and described him as a loyal supporter. A tribute will be paid at the next home match at Bollaert-Delelis.

The Ligue 1 fixture against PSG scheduled for Saturday 11 April has been postponed.

In its place, Lens have planned a friendly against FC Rouen.
