Reading FC have been encouraged to bring the defender back to the club

Reading FC have experienced an underwhelming 2025/26 campaign thus far.
There were plenty of reasons to be positive at the Select Car Leasing Stadium heading into this season, after Dai Yongge’s controversial tenure as owner came to an end in the summer.
Having finished just three points shy of a play-off finish last term despite a less-than-ideal ownership situation, hope was rife among the Royals’ faithful that another top-six push could be on the cards.
That hasn’t been the case after 15 matches, with Reading sat 17th in the League One standings and just three points clear of the relegation zone. Further pain was inflicted upon the Berkshire outfit in the FA Cup, as National League outfit Carlisle United came from two goals down to win 3-2 away from home.
Manager Noel Hunt was relieved of his duties in October, which opened the door for Leam Richardson to take over. A first victory in the league over high-flying Stevenage was promising, but the 45-year-old will surely wish to commence more business in January.

League One has been extremely tight this season, with multiple clubs emerging as promotion contenders and relegation candidates at different points in the season.
Despite their mixed start, Reading are only seven points shy of the play-offs, which isn’t an insurmountable gap in the space of 31 matches. This puts further emphasis on January and the business that is commended in the winter transfer window.
When questioned on who the Royals should bring in to improve matters, Football League World’s Reading FC fan pundit, Johnny Hunt, believes that one opportunity in particular should be explored by the club.
“I'd love to get Tyler Bindon back,” stated Johnny. "It looks like his loan is being cancelled at Sheffield United.
“He hasn't had a great time there. Neither has the club and for a young guy like that, to be part of a team that's struggling so badly would have put a massive dent in his confidence.
“If we could get him back, it would just give us a bit more depth at the back.
“We know how good a player he was for us last season. That's an obvious one for me.”

As Johnny mentioned, Tyler Bindon has struggled immensely at Bramall Lane this season.
The 20-year-old started four matches under Ruben Selles, but since Chris Wilder was brought back to the club, he hasn’t featured again.
Football League World recently exclusively revealed that the Blades were preparing to cancel Bindon’s loan deal in January, but a Reading return might not be what parent club Nottingham Forest have in mind.
Although the New Zealand international has struggled in the Steel City, he proved himself as a capable operator whilst on loan with Reading last term and Forest will want to see him succeed in a different environment.
If another Championship opportunity presents itself, that may be where Bindon ends up, or at most, a temporary move to a side competing at the top of League One.
