FC Barcelona returned to the 1:1 status at the start of this new year, and this change is expected to have some very marked implications for the Catalan club.

For instance, this will allow the Blaugranes to sign their required players from the market more easily, and the Azulgrana are looking to take full advantage of this situation in one key area, the South American talent market.

But in the short-term, this change can also have serious implications for some of the players in the Barcelona squad, as the Catalans are reported to be now open to selling some of their players to get new players in January.

One such player who can come out affected with this change is the forward Ansu Fati. The Spaniard returned to the Blaugrana club last summer after spending the last season on loan at the Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

Hansi Flick’s appointment provided him with another opportunity to gain a more prominent role in the Barcelona squad, but injuries have kept him from properly impressing the German tactician. Meanwhile, he has also been unable to take full advantage of the opportunities he has been handed by Flick.

In such a scenario, SPORT reports that Real Betis are now highly hopeful that they can get the 22-year-old forward on loan for the next six months, but Fati himself will have to make a final decision in this regard.

The Spaniard has been reluctant to leave Barcelona, but his ostracism under Flick has pushed him to reconsider his choice.

Meanwhile, his agent, Jorge Mendes, has also been talking to other sides like Valencia and Girona for a loan in which the Blaugranes will have to continue paying a significant part of his wages as their primary objective is to get the player revalued.

However, a move to Sevilla is now off the table, as the Catalans are unwilling to strengthen them due to strained institutional relations. It remains to be seen how Fati’s situation unfolds in the coming weeks, and the ongoing Spanish Super Cup could mark his final involvement with Barcelona this season.
