Those in the boardroom at La Liga outfit Real Betis were no doubt delighted with developments in Thursday night’s meeting between Spain and Bulgaria.
This comes after Jesús Rodríguez was afforded his senior Spanish bow by Luis de la Fuente.
Late in proceedings in Sofia, with La Roja three goals to the good, Rodríguez was introduced to proceedings off the bench, for Lamine Yamal.
As much marked a special moment for the 19-year-old, who continues to make a name for himself as a future star in the making.
And as alluded to above, also happy to see Rodríguez take to the pitch yesterday evening were those in a position of power at Real Betis.
The young winger departed Betis for Serie A outfit Como this summer, in a deal featuring a series of add-ons and bonuses.
As per Marca, one such bonus stipulated that, in the case of Rodríguez becoming a full Spanish international, Como would be required to fork over another €500,000.
With as much having since come to pass, the brass at the Estadio Benito Villamarín can therefore look forward to an incoming cash injection.
