While it is their team’s performances on the pitch and the trophies that they win that most readily catch the eyes of their followers, Real Madrid have also been working impeccably in the domain of management in the last few years.

In this regard, their strong management is evident from the way they have managed their finances and remained one of the most profitable entities in the world.

Today, as Diario AS has noted, their good performance was highlighted once again as Real Madrid reported a record revenue of €1.221 billion (excluding income from player transfers), after a board meeting.

This figure shows a growth of 3.1% over the course of the last year, and this is the first time that any sports entity has crossed the €1.2 billion mark, showcasing the leadership of the white club in the financial aspect.

Two areas of income in which the club has seen the highest growth are stadium revenues, which increased by 11%, and marketing revenues, which increased by 6%. Overall, their operating profit before amortization and depreciation saw an 18% increase to reach €287.4 million, while their profit after tax stood at €26.3 million. With these figures, the club has recorded a profit for 26 years straight.

In the bigger picture, the Merengue club has seen its revenues increase by 61% in the last seven years, and during this time, Los Blancos have doubled their income from their stadium. The club’s current net worth stands at €624 million, and they have €83 million in cash.

All these figures show how well Real Madrid have been managed over the last several years, if it was not already apparent from their transfer market activity this summer, especially with the way they have competed with and even got the better of some state-backed clubs.
