Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has been widely linked with an exit from the club in recent days, more so after the clear neglect he has faced from the manager in the team’s opening La Liga games of the season.
Across the team’s two games so far in the competition, the player has managed under ten minutes, including a late appearance against Real Oviedo.
That, coupled with the manager’s clear preference for young blood in Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono, has fulled his talks for a transfer.
In recent days, links between Ceballos and Olympique Marseille have intensified with the French side seriously interested in recruiting the veteran midfielder as a regular starter in their plans.
As relayed earlier, the player and the Ligue 1 side had already reached an agreement and all that remained was for an agreement to be reached between the two clubs.

Now, Fabrizio Romano brings to light that Real Madrid and Marseille have made solid progress in terms of reaching an agreement and the understanding is now very close.
Should the two clubs reach a final agreement, the player’s move to the French side will be completed imminently helping him end his relatively rough stint at Real Madrid over the years.
After all, he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at any point.;
What remains to be seen, however, is the form of the transfer that will unfold for there has been talk of both a permanent transfer and a move on loan with an option to purchase.
Needless to say, that will depend on Marseille’s take on Real Madrid’s valuation of the player and whether or not they are willing to shell out the €15 to 20 million they demand.
