Rafael Obrador’s proposed move from Benfica to Torino is currently awaiting administrative approval from Real Madrid because of existing clauses linked to his sale.

According to Gianluca DiMarzio, the left-back could head to Serie A on loan with an option to buy.

The agreement between Benfica and Torino sets a 10 million euros purchase clause. Real Madrid sold Obrador to Benfica for 5 million, retaining first-refusal rights and an active buy-back option, which means any deal including a purchase option must be cleared in Madrid.

Benfica are waiting on the outcome to decide the player’s immediate future, with the full-back seeking regular football away from Estádio da Luz.

Under Bruno Lage he made a few appearances, but since José Mourinho took charge he has not featured in official matches. The current coach does not count on him, opening the door to a winter move to Serie A.

This season he has played three games for Benfica, one in Liga Portugal Betclic and two in the Segunda Liga, totalling 237 minutes, with one goal and one assist. He is under contract until June 2030 and is valued at 2 million euros.
