In a major development, ESPN Brasil reports that Rodrygo is increasingly dissatisfied with his situation at Real Madrid and is considering leaving the club, as early as the winter transfer window, starting in January 2026.

There had been a lot of noise surrounding Rodrygo and his future throughout the summer after going through a lean patch and losing his place in the team first under former manager Carlo Ancelotti and later with new boss Xabi Alonso at the helm.

In the end, however, the 24-year-old forward opted to stay and fight for a place in the team at the Santiago Bernabeu. But his situation has hardly improved since then as minutes continue to come rarely and his form dwindles.

Once again left on the bench, this time during the 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, the 24-year-old forward only came on in the 79th minute. This recurring situation has been affecting the player’s mindset.

As per the report, Rodrygo’s frustration has grown over time under Alonso’s management. Real Madrid have played 16 matches this season (12 in La Liga and four in the Champions League). Rodrygo has featured in 13 of them, but started only three.

Nearly five months have passed under Alonso’s leadership, and nothing so far suggests that Rodrygo’s role will change.

As a result, both the player and the club, though neither admits it publicly, are open to a potential move in the next transfer window.

if he leaves, Rodrygo’s preference is to move to the Premier League. There are currently no official offers, but if genuine interest emerges once the market reopens, both the club and the player’s representatives will listen and evaluate proposals.
