Real Madrid head coach Álvaro Arbeloa has on Sunday sent a departing message the way of Kylian Mbappé.

This comes in a clear effort to put to bed once and for all the long-term speculation that the pair did not see eye to eye.

Tactician Arbeloa of course saw out his final fixture as interim Real Madrid boss on Saturday, a 4-2 victory over Athletic Club in Spain’s capital.

After the former defender struggled to steady the ship following the departure of Xabi Alonso earlier this year, Florentino Pérez and co. made the call to send Arbeloa on his way.

The 43-year-old’s stint as Blancos boss was a tumultuous one, during which reports were rampant regarding poor relationships with his players.

One such player comes in the form of Kylian Mbappé, fresh off another drama-filled season of his own.

This weekend, Arbeloa therefore moved to set the record straight.

Taking to his official social media platforms, the Spaniard unveiled a heartfelt message for his now former-goalscorer, reading:

“Thank you so much, Kylian Mbappé.

“I will always brag that I coached such an extraordinary football player with unparalleled talent”

“Hard times don’t last forever, but strong people do. Onto everything that’s coming.”
