Two members of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will be expected to take to the pitch in a competitive setting for the first time this season this coming weekend.

That’s according to Xabi Alonso, who points towards Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga as the players in question.

Both Bellingham and Camavinga have of course been forced to watch on from afar, as Real Madrid have rattled off five wins from five to open the campaign.

This comes owing to respective injury woes, the former after undergoing shoulder surgery, and the latter with an ankle complaint.

It came as something of a surprise when Bellingham and Camavinga were included in Los Blancos’ squad to face Marseille on Tuesday, albeit with neither having actually taken to the pitch.

As alluded to above, though, this situation looks set to change against Espanyol this weekend.

Drawn on his engine room duo after a 2-1 victory over Marseille, Xabi Alonso confirmed:

“Jude & Camavinga will be able to play on Saturday.”
