If Real Madrid manage to overcome Atletico Madrid in the round of 16, they will need to be cautious about player availability for a potential quarter-final clash against Arsenal.
With the English side now confirmed on the other side of the draw after their crushing 1-7 defeat to PSV in the first leg, Real Madrid must ensure they have their key players ready for what could be a crucial first-leg encounter.
The biggest concern revolves around Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Antonio Rudiger.
All three players have already picked up two yellow cards in the competition, meaning another booking in the high-intensity derby at Metropolitano would result in suspension for the quarter-final opener.
This is a significant issue, especially considering how Real Madrid have already suffered from such suspensions—Jude Bellingham was forced to miss the first leg of the current round for the very same reason.

In a season where injuries have been a persistent challenge for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, losing players due to suspension could further complicate matters.
Camavinga and Tchouameni provide crucial defensive stability in midfield, while Rudiger has been a rock at the back.
Their absence against a team like Arsenal, who possess attacking threats all over the pitch, would put Real Madrid in a difficult position.
Given their playing styles, all three of them are frequently involved in duels and tackles, making it even harder to avoid bookings in such an intense fixture against Atletico Madrid.
However, they must find a way to manage the game smartly, ensuring they do not jeopardise their availability for the next round.
If Real Madrid progress, having their strongest possible squad for the quarter-finals could be the difference between success and failure in their Champions League journey.
Managing the game wisely at the Metropolitano will be key to avoiding unnecessary suspensions and keeping their European hopes alive.
