Real Madrid could move for €100m-rated PSG superstar if Vinicius renewal efforts fail | OneFootball

Journalist Paco Jose Delgado on SER Deportivos, has provided a crucial update on the increasingly complicated situation surrounding Vinicius Jr. at Real Madrid.

Vinicius’ contract expires in 2027 and talks over a renewal have completely come to a halt, as the forward goes through a turbulent period, both on and off the pitch.

Real Madrid not changing their plans with Vinicius

As per the journalist, though, Real Madrid continue to build their long-term project around the Brazilian forward, with no immediate change in plans despite his contract renewal talks remaining stalled.

However, significant internal doubts have emerged following a difficult stretch in the 2025-26 season.

After all, Vinicius has endured a prolonged goal drought of 14 games in a row, while his performances have been inconsistent at best.

So much so that, fan frustration reached a new level with boos at the Santiago Bernabeu during recent home matches, including against Sevilla.

Reports suggest that the 25-year-old forward is doubting the level of support from the Bernabeu crowd, further complicating renewal discussions.

Amidst all this, however, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez maintains his backing for Vinicius but has refused to improve the current renewal offer, even as the Brazilian continues to demand for a huge salary increase and renewal bonus.

The hope is that the forward will return to his senses eventually and that he will regain his elite form and win back the fans through performances on the pitch.

Vitinha on the radars

However, at the same time, should Vinícius fail to recapture his best level or negotiations over his new contract do not pan out as expected, Real Madrid have a contingency plan in their backpocket.

Indeed, as per the report, Real Madrid are looking at PSG midfield superstar Vitinha as a possible reinforcement for the team in case they are forced to part ways with Vinicius.

It is no secret that Los Blancos urgently require a creative midfielder to control games. And Vitinha, after a spectacular year in which he finished third in the Ballon d’Or voting, has emerged as the leading candidate.

Widely regarded as one of the world’s top midfielders, Vitinha signed a new deal with PSG in February this year, committing until the summer of 2029.

Any potential transfer could cost an enormous fee, with the report suggesting that he could be available for around €100 million.

So, Real Madrid are not changing course with Vinicius and hope that an agreement can be reached. If not, they are looking at Vitinha as a possible replacement, one that can address a key issue in the team.
