At a time when Real Madrid are going through a crisis, the January transfer window comes at an opportune moment.
Although Real Madrid have historically avoided making any winter signings, things could be different this time around.
The club are particularly looking for reinforcements in the defensive unit, including signing a new fullback.
Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid are interested in a move for Manchester United ace Diogo Dalot, heading into the January transfer window.
This is according to Defensa Central, which suggests that Dalot is being looked at favourably by Real Madrid given his versatility and experience.
In a Man United side that has struggled once again, Dalot has emerged as a consistent performer and with over 150 Premier League appearances, he doesn’t lack experience either.

The report adds that although Man United’s asking price for Dalot is not yet known, negotiations could start at around €20 million.
This is a reasonable price for Real Madrid as they desperately look to reinforce the fullback department that has struggled with injuries this season.
Indeed, the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy are all injured right now, whereas David Alaba’s days at Real Madrid are numbered.
The addition of Dalot, therefore, could go a long way in adding not just experience and quality, but also enhancing depth in the Real Madrid backline.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not Man United are willing to part ways with the Portuguese international, who is a vital part of the team’s plans.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also interested in signing a new centre-back in the summer of 2026, with the club still keeping tabs on Dayot Upamecano.
