La Liga champions Barcelona have on Friday been made aware of the official set to take charge of their gameweek 2 meeting with Levante.

The referee in question? Alejandro Hernández Hernández.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action on Saturday evening.

After kicking the defence of their La Liga title into gear with a comfortable 3-0 downing of RCD Mallorca last weekend, this time round, the aforementioned Levante lie in wait.

With the renovation works at the Spotify Camp Nou ongoing, Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana will again be on the road for the fixture, travelling to the Estadi Ciutat de València.

And as alluded to above, 24 hours out from their 2nd outing of the campaign in Spain’s top-flight, Barca have discovered the identity of the referee appointed to oversee proceedings in Valencia.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Alejandro Hernández Hernández is the referee who must dispense justice in the match between Levante UD and FC Barcelona this Saturday at the Ciutat de València stadium.’

Hernández Hernández was targeted on more than one occasion by supporters of Real Madrid last season, amid accusations of bias towards Barcelona.
