PSG may be considering Sporting Lisbon centre-back Ousmane Diomande as a long-term replacement for Marquinhos. The club, however, is not alone in their interest, as several Premier League sides are also tracking the defender.
CaughtOffside reported on December 12 that Crystal Palace sees Diomande as a key target to fill the gap left by Marc Guehi, who remains linked with Liverpool and other top European clubs.
Sporting are reluctant to let Diomande go and are emphasizing his €80 million release clause, which could make a move difficult for Palace but more feasible for clubs like Chelsea. Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle have also reportedly monitored Diomande in recent months.

Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid are looking for a more budget-friendly option to strengthen their defense, with Diomande emerging as a leading candidate. The club wants to steer clear of another high-wage commitment, mindful of the challenges faced with David Alaba.
This interest comes shortly after A Bola reported on December 28 that PSG have made Diomande their top defensive target. The French and European champions are reportedly willing to pay €45 million to secure the Sporting Lisbon centre-back.
According to the report, Diomande is seen as a “new Pacho,” a reference to Willian Pacho, the Ecuadorian center-back PSG signed from Eintracht Frankfurt for €35 million in the summer of 2024, who has established himself as a key figure in the team.
Given the squad is competing on multiple fronts, and Marquinhos is already 31, this is a typical long-term move within Luís Campos’s forward-looking planning.
