A recent report from SPORT has shed light on Real Madrid’s potential plans if Vinicius Jr. decides to leave the club.

It must be noted that while the Brazilian winger remains a key figure, Los Blancos have always operated under the principle that no player is irreplaceable—no matter how important they may seem.

At the heart of this situation is Vinicius’ demand for a significant salary increase. However, Florentino Perez is unlikely to bow to such demands, as maintaining financial discipline remains a priority for the club’s long-term sustainability.

Real Madrid will sell Vinicius if…

Vinicius is under contract until 2027, but there is an upcoming meeting scheduled for this summer to discuss a potential renewal.

Real Madrid would ideally like to extend his deal until 2029, but the sticking point remains his request for a substantial pay rise—something the club is unwilling to grant. T

he Brazilian is aware of lucrative offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia and could use that as leverage, but history has shown that negotiating with Perez is never an easy task.

Should Vinicius push for an exit, Real Madrid will not stand in his way—provided an offer of at least €250 million arrives.

The club would then reinvest that sum in securing a high-profile replacement to ensure the attack remains formidable. Two names have emerged as top candidates: Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams.

Among the two, Athletic Club’s Nico Williams seems to have a slight edge for multiple reasons. Firstly, he would be a more affordable option compared to Wirtz.

Secondly, his natural playing style makes him a direct replacement for Vinicius on the left wing.

Lastly, signing him would help balance the squad’s Spanish-to-foreign player ratio, something Madrid has always kept in mind when building their team.

What about Wirtz?

Wirtz, on the other hand, remains a strong contender—especially if Xabi Alonso is appointed as the team’s next manager. The German playmaker, who will turn 22 in May, is one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.

His creativity, technical brilliance, and vision make him an attractive option for Real Madrid, particularly if they look to reshape their attacking midfield for the future.

While Real Madrid remain keen on keeping Vinicius, the club is already planning for every possible scenario. If the Brazilian departs, they will not hesitate to bring in a new superstar who can keep the team at the highest level.
