Real Madrid interested in Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck – BVB to demand at least €70m | OneFootball

Bild reports that Real Madrid are the next club to show interest in Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck. 

The 26-year-old’s contract situation at the club is far from being resolved, and this has resulted in some of Europe’s biggest clubs showing an interest in the Dortmund defender, including Bayern Munich and Barcelona. 

Madrid are the next team to monitor the situation as the contract of Antonio Rüdiger expires in the Spanish capital in the summer, and a replacement would be needed. 

However, it has previously been reported that die Schwarzgelben would be happy to lose Schlotterbeck on a free transfer in 2027, when his contract expires, rather than sell him. If they are forced to sell him, then Dortmund will demand at least €70m for the defender. 

Madrid’s plan for luring the Dortmund defender:

Reports from Spain had suggested that Madrid would offer a swap deal for Schlotterbeck. Meaning they would only have to pay €30-35m whilst also sending defender Diego Aguado and striker Gonzalo Garcia to Germany. 

But this is far too little for Sebastian Kehl when it comes to one of their star players.
