Club forced to apologise after major mix up involving Elche striker

Real Madrid issue official apology after major mistake
Real Madrid have been forced to apologise after committing major error during their Ordinary General Assembly of Members where the club displayed tribute video honouring figures who passed away over the last year.
The clip included Liverpool forward Diogo Jota & his brother Andre Silva who tragically died together in car accident last July.
But instead of showing the late Andre Silva, Real Madrid mistakenly displayed photograph of Elche CF striker Andre da Silva a completely different player who is alive and preparing to face Real Madrid in La Liga.
The blunder was quickly detected during the projection prompting the club to issue formal apology:
"Real Madrid CF apologises to Elche CF and its player Andre da Silva for having mistakenly included his image in the obituary of institutional video instead of that of Andre Silva, the brother of Diogo Jota. We regret the incident"
Club president Florentino Perez also addressed the assembly directly acknowledging the mistake as "human error" and offering personal apologies to Elche and to the player.
The individual incorrectly featured in the tribute was Andre da Silva the 30 year old Portuguese striker who joined Elche in the summer after leaving RB Leipzig.
