After having made four quick signings since the end of the last season, Real Madrid are reportedly currently focused on exit operations at this point in time, as the team is currently overfilled with no space for more players.

However, Jose Mourinho would decide on most of the departures only after assessing them during the preseason, which is set to start on July 13th. Once some departures are completed, the Merengues can work on even more additions, as the Portuguese coach wants another center-back and a midfielder for his team.

Meanwhile, as they continue to work on these arrivals and departures to give Mourinho a highly competitive team for the next season, another matter that would be concerning the white club’s sporting department would be the contractual situation of Vinicius Junior.

The Brazilian star’s current contract is going to end next summer, and as MARCA has noted, he would be free to negotiate a new contract with any club of his choice in six months’ time.

Still, Real Madrid remain calm about his situation, and would address this operation only after the World Cup, something the player himself has publicly acknowledged, mainly to not interfere with his World Cup campaign.

It also needs to be kept in mind that his performances in this competition have been top-class so far, and can turn out to be a decisive factor when the two parties sit down to negotiate his new contract.

The main difference between the two sides so far is economical, as Vinicius wants his wages to rise from current €20 million to €30 million, and the white club is not too keen to offer him such a significant raise.

Despite interest from Saudi Arabia and Chelsea, there has been no concrete offer for Vinicius Junior so far. The two sides have displayed their willingness to continue working together several times in the last few months, but with no final agreement, every passing day could hurt the bargaining position of Real Madrid and improve that of Vinicius Junior, as he can negotiate a free transfer in only six months’ time.
