With the international break soon coming to an end, Real Madrid are slated to resume their campaign on October 19, when they take on Getafe in La Liga.

But between now and then, the club have less than a week to fast-track the recovery of all the injured players, especially in the defensive unit.

The likes of Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy and Antonio Rudiger are still sidelined right now, leaving Xabi Alonso thin on options at the back.

Huijsen to miss Getafe match

To make things worse, it appears Huijsen has been ruled out of the upcoming game against Getafe, reports The Athletic.

The 20-year-old defender returned early from the Spain NT camp this month due to muscle issues. However, initial reports suggested that he would be out for a period of ten days only, suggesting he could be ready for the upcoming match.

But it appears that the Spanish international is not quite there yet and will not be able to make it in time for the Getafe match, which in turn could force Alonso to deploy Federico Valverde at right-back.

However, there could be light at the end of the tunnel for Real Madrid. That is because the club are looking for Huijsen to be match-ready for the Juventus clash in the UEFA Champions League.

The Juventus game will take place four days before the October 26 Clasico against Barcelona. If Huijsen returns to action before that period, it could serve as a massive boost for Los Blancos, as it implies the player will feature against Barcelona too.

Moreover, Real Madrid are also optimistic about having both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal return in time for the Barcelona clash.

That means Alonso could potentially have Huijsen, Trent and Carvajal available at his disposal when Real Madrid take on Barcelona on October 26.
