Real Madrid endured another forgettable match last night as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League. With this defeat, the Merengues have lost the last two games, the first one against Barcelona.
The fact that both these games were played at the Santiago Bernabeu makes these defeats even more painful for the Los Blancos fans.
Almost none of the Real Madrid players stood out yesterday, with the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Lucas Vazquez, Eder Militao, and Kylian Mbappe particularly struggling.
The veteran Luka Modric also did not have a very good game. He would definitely have wanted this game to go another way as Mundo Deportivo reports that this was his 550th game in a Real Madrid shirt.
He is the 12th player in the club’s history to reach this figure and thus ranks 12th in the list of players with the most appearances for the Royal Whites. However, he ranks first in the list of players who have won the most titles with Real Madrid, with 27 trophies to his name, including 6 UEFA Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 4 La Ligas, 2 Copa del Reys, and 5 Spanish Super Cups.
Currently in his 13th season at the Spanish club, he made his debut on 29th August 2012, and won the Spanish Super Cup over Barcelona in his first appearance.
Of his 550 appearances, 370 have come in La Liga, 124 in UEFA Champions League, 29 in Copa del Rey, 13 in Spanish Super Cup, 8 in Club World Cup, and 6 in European Super Cup. The season in which he made the highest number of appearances was 2012-13, with 53 appearances, while he also made 52 appearances in 2022-23. In these appearances, he has scored 39 goals in total.
